Woman mauled by 3 dogs

An Upstate woman had her arms amputated after being mauled by three dogs while walking down the road, according to her family. Kyleen Waltman, 38-year-old mother of three, was attacked by the dogs about 10:30 am Monday in Honea Path, her sister, Shenna Green, told WYFF News 4. Green said it happened while Waltman was walking home on Ball Road . She said a man found Waltman in a ditch still being attacked. Green said the man had to go get a gun and shoot it in the air to get the dogs off of Waltman. Waltman was airlifted to the hospital. “She didn’t deserve it. She was a good person. She helped everybody,” said Green. According to Green, the dogs live in the area and there is a ‘Beware of Dogs’ sign on the property. A GoFundMe page said Waltman has had both arms amputated up to the shoulder and now she had to have her colon removed and now her esophagus may have to be removed.”She has a long road ahead of her and will need medical and financial help. Tripp Crosby said the incident is being investigated by the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office and Abbeville County Animal Control.
