Three motorcyclists killed on Arkansas interstate

WELL, ARKANSAS STETA POLICE THAT ALL OF THE BIKERS INVOLVED ARE OUT OF LOUISNAIA NOW POLICE, DEPUTIES AND FIREFIGHTERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS. WE’RE OUT HERE ON INTERSTATE FOR MORE THAN 5 HOURS. LAST NIGHT AT ONE COUPLE SAYS EYTH BARELY BEING HIT BY THAT TRUCK. THAT WAS HEADING RIGHTT A THEM. I WAS BEHIND THE BIKERS. LITERALLY LIKE TEN, LIKE 20 FEET AWAY AS I LOOKED, SHE SEEN THE TRUCK. I’VE SEEN THE IMPACT AND THE EXPLOSION IN THE MOTORCYCLES AND JUST WE ALL DO A BIG EXPLOSION AND I TRIED SO HARD TO NOT ANYONE. NO, I DON’T KNOW WHERE THEY CAME FROM. I SAW THEM DRIVING THIS WAY JUST AFTER SIX THURSDAY NIGHT. 20 YEAR OLD SINAEN KITAGAWA WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 40 WITH HER BOYFRIEND. 22 YEAR OLD ADAM WALKER. HE SHOT THIS VIDEO OF THE CRASH. ARKANSAS STATE POLICE SAY 29 YEAR OLD IVAN, A SANTOS FROM NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, WAS DRIVING THE PICKUP TRUCK THAT WAS HEADING THE WRONG IN THE WESTBOUND LANES ON THE INTERSTATE. ALL HAPPENED SO FAST, IT SO UNREAL. POLICE SAY THE TRUCK HIT, A GROUP OF SIX MOTORCYCLES KILLING 14. SIX YEAR OLD LEONARD LARAM JR, 44 YEAR OLD PATRICIA LAMAR AND 50 YEAR OLD MELINDA CIANO, ALL FROM LOUISIANA. FOUR OTHER MOTORCYCLE WERE TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITALS AS WELLS A THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK AND A PASSENGER. THEIR CONDITIONS ARE UNKNOWN. YOU CAN SEE WHAT’S LEFT OF THE TRUCK AFTER IT WAS TOWED AWAY AND THE MOTORCYCLES ARE ALMOST UNRECOGNIZABLE. IT’S SOMETHING YOUNG COUPLE FROM ARK WHO WITNESSED THE CRASH THEY’LL NEVER FORGET. I KEEP THINKING ABOUT IT, BUT LIKE IT AFFECTS MORE BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T, LIKE, DRIVE THEM ANYMORE. SHE DOESN’T WANT TO DRIVE ON THE NOW, WITNESSES TOLD US THAT IT LO OKS LIKE THE DRIVER OF THAT TRUCK WAS TRAVELING AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. AS OF RIGHT NOW, STATE POLICE HAVE NOT DETERMINED HOW FAST TH AT DRIVER WAS ACTUALLY GOING OR WHY HE WAS GOING THE WRONG WAONY HE INTERSTATE. THEY SAY IT MAY BE SEVERAL DAYS UNTIL THEY CAN RELEASE MORE INFORMATION FROM THERE ONGOING INVESTIGATIO

A wrong-way crash on Interstate 40 killed three motorcyclists Thursday evening, according to a preliminary crash summary released by Arkansas State Police. Ivan Santos, 29, of Norman, Oklahoma, was driving a pickup truck east in the westbound lanes of I-40 in Dyer at about 6 pm May 12, according to the report. Santos’ truck hit a group of six motorcyclists who were going in the correct direction in the left lane. Three of the motorcyclists were killed. Leonard Lemar Jr., 46, and his passenger Patricia Lemar, 44, died. They were both from Slidell, Louisiana. Malinda Shano, 50, of Terryton, Louisiana, was also killed. Four other people driving motorcycles were sent to the hospitals. Santos and his passenger were also injured. The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time, according to the report .
