Power outage in Ohio; Saturday storm damage

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Saturday afternoon brought severe thunderstorms to Northeast Ohio, with a tornado watch even issued for Huron County at one point. The weather meant hail, high winds, lightning and, yes damage to area property.

FirstEnergy is reporting more than 16,000 customers are without power across Ohio as of 10:50 pm, and that includes more than 2,000 in Cuyahoga County, 6,000 in Trumbull County and 3,000 in Mahoning County.

Multiple FOX 8 viewers shared what the storms looked like near them, including Brandon Hall, who sent in a video depicting high winds and a fire (as seen in the video above) just outside Willard, Ohio. He told FOX 8 News he and his sister were staying at their grandmother’s home when he took the video. During that time, power lines were taken down on SR-103, but reportedly no one was injured.
