76ers vs. Raptors score: Live updates as Joel Embiid, James Harden lead Philadelphia against Toronto in Game 2

With just 48 hours between Games 1 and 2, the Toronto Raptors needed to make some major adjustments if they hoped to tie up their first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers and avoid falling into an 0-2 hole. Given the fact that star rookie Scottie Barnes is sidelined for this matchup, things will only be more difficult for the Raptors than they were in Game 1. On the other side, the 76ers would like to replicate Saturday’s Game 1 performance in as many ways as possible in order to take a 2-0 series lead across the border for Game 3. While the Raptors led after one quarter of play, the 76ers dominated the second quarter to take a double-digit lead into the halftime break.

The 76ers opened up their first-round series with the Raptors with a commanding 131-111 victory, thanks largely to Tyrese Maxey’s stellar performance. Maxey paced Philadelphia with 38 points. He also received a good amount of help from Joel Embiid (19 points, 15 rebounds), James Harden (22 points, 14 assists) and Tobias Harris (26 points, six assists). Toronto looked overmatched for the majority of the first game. Pascal Siakam led the way for the Raptors with 24 points and seven assists, and OG Anunoby added 20 points and seven rebounds, but ultimately their combined production wasn’t nearly enough. We’ll see if that changes tonight.
